This indoor aquatic centre is one of the largest of its type in Europe, offering not just all-year-round swimming but slides, water toboggans, indoor beaches, beauty and fitness centres, tropical surroundings and great eating too.

The warmth of the water is provided by geothermic heating ensuring great a temperature all year round. So it’s a great place to splash out and enjoy yourselves whatever the weather! The site occupies a hectare, and the centrepiece is the main lagoon or espace lagon. Here around the warm blue waters there are beaches, palm trees, a tropical glasshouse, a toboggan slide and even real waves. For the more serious swimmers there’s also a 25-metre sports pool, plus games and events for kids and teenagers.

Fitness and Health Centre

The espace forme – is a great place to pamper and take care of your body. Here there are not just Turkish and Roman baths, sauna, individual jacuzzis and a solarium, but also baths where you can be massaged by jets of water or swim against the current in turquoise waters at a balmy 31C.

If you’re feeling more energetic there’s also a fully-equipped fitness area.

Beauty Care and Spa Services

A third key element is the beauty area or espace beauté. Here you can find a variety of beauty care and spa services, from wax and skin treatments to specialist face, feet and hand care. Weight-losing and fitness programmes are also available.

The water park also offers plenty of choice when it comes to eating, with a terrace that overlooks all the pools.

Things to Do and See nearby

Jonzac itself is a spa town with its own private spa centre. This historic town is also the centre of the Haute Saintonge, an ancient area of the region whose boundaries and traditions long predate the departmental and regional borders. The Saintonge takes its name from the Santoni or Santones, a Gaulish tribe who lived in the area before and during the time of the Roman conquest of Gaul.

The Haute-Saintonge is also pineau and cognac country, and the village of Archiac is the centre of the Petite Champagne area, one of the six ‘crus’ of the cognac appellation and one of the most highly-regarded. Here you can find the Maison de la Vigne et des Saveurs de Haute-Saintonge, a centre and shop dedicated to local drink and food (tel: +33 5 46 49 57 11).

Please note: Children under 12 in the lagoon pools and under 16 in the health and fitness area must be accompanied by an adult.

Appropriate swimwear and sportswear are required in these respective areas.
