This stretch of coastline is known as ‘The pearl of the Côte de Jade’, and beach-lovers can’t go wrong here – the beach stretches for 4.5 kilometres, much of it backed by sand dunes and towering pine trees. With gently sloping sands, anywhere along this stretch is perfect for a few hours enjoying the sun, sea and sand. Most beaches have received the ‘Blue Flag’ for cleanliness and water quality.
A favourite beach along this stretch is Plage de la Pierre Attelee (also known as Roussellerie beach) which is backed by the Pierre Attelee forest and has views of the carrelets, the fishing cabins on stilts that dot the entire French Atlantic coast.
