A small zoo just by the River Tanchet at the southern end of Le Remblai, with many trees so even on hot days there is plenty of shade. The zoo houses 280 animals, covering 40 or species including giraffes, lions, leopards, monkeys, many of which roam around the zoo, otters – a popular exhibit as their pool is glass-sided so you can see them underwater – and a number of birds.
Buy the popcorn at the entrance to feed the animals; you can also feed the Oceania lorikeets with nectar in their enclosure.
